My niece recently had a baby and I purchased a couple of outfits for her. I saw a company on Pinterest, Milk Barn Kids, that sold baby clothes in some fun packaging and thought I would give it a try. I think they came out kind of cute!
I measured the length, width, and depth of the folded outfit, doubled the front and side measurements and allowed for overlap in the back. I also measured the amount I would need to seal the box at the top and bottom and made sure I scored enough for each.
I used a 12 x 12 piece of our Kraft cardstock for the box on the left and cut the body using the largest jar from the Everyday Jars Framelits. Unfortunately, because the piece was too wide to fit in the Big Shot, I tried to keep the framelit from making a crease on the uncut side but it still did, so I covered the sides and back with pieces of Designer Series Paper from out 12 x 12 paper stacks to hide the marks.
The box on the right was made from a retired piece of 12 x 12 Coordinations cardstock we used to carry. This time I used one of the Layering Oval Framelits as a template and cut the circle using an X-Acto knife.
The babies heads are just a circle from the Layering Circles Framelits and the ears I punched from our retired 3/8" circle punch but you could use one of the circles from the Owl Builder Punch depending upon the size of your head. I used a Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker to draw the face and some Blushing Bride for the cheeks.
I probably should have stamped some tone-on-tone images on the front of the boxes but so much for hindsight!
