What a great way to document your year or better yet, make a New Year's resolution to start documenting 2017. Oh the places you'll go and things you will do!
If you're not a journalist or not into scrapbooks, here are a few alternate projects I've come up with.
I sponged the background, cut to 3 3/4" x 5", with Soft Sky ink to add a little color, layered it onto a piece of 4" x 5 1/4" Marina Mist cardstock and then attached that to my Thick Whisper White card base. I stamped a little butterfly from the Garden in Bloom stamp set with Soft Sky and Marina Mist inks using the rock and roll inking method. It was cut out and attached to the sponged layer with a Stampin' Dimensional. I cut the plastic sheet down to 3 3/4" x 5" and strategically placed pieces of the Foam Adhesives Strips behind some of the letters and attached that to the card front. I added the silver chevrons to the corners then tucked a little piece of the Foam Adhesive behind them.
This card uses one of the patterned backgrounds cut at 4 1/8" x 5 3/8" and attached to a Crushed Curry card base. I attached a piece of Crushed Curry cardstock cut at 1" x 3 3/4" about two thirds of the way down on the card front. I ran SNAIL behind some of the letters to attach the plastic piece that had been cut down to 3 3/4" x 3 3/4" and attached that. The sun is made from one of the circles and chevrons in the kit.
I used a sentiment from an earlier Paper Pumpkin kit and stamped it in Real Red on the 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Flirty Flamingo. That got layered onto a 4 1/8" x 5 3/8" piece of Real Red and attached to the Thick Whisper White card front. The "LOVE" is from the rotary stamp included in this month's kit. I cut out the heart on the plastic sheet and added pieces of the silver arrows from the kit. Again I used the Foam Adhesive Strips behind the hear to pop it up on the front.
This last project is a little sleeve that will hold the three cards plus envelopes. I used two pieces of the paper included in the kit to make it along with the Washi Tape and some of the half circle embellishments to cover the holes that are punched in the paper. The "For You" is from the September 2016 Paper Pumpkin kit.
If you'd like to create full-size scrapbook pages or some smaller cards, here are a few more suggestions from Stampin' Up!.
UPDATE: I've added a couple of additional projects. I took inspiration from other cards I saw online.
This is a note size card, 3 1/2" x 5", that was inspired by Debbie Beaulieu Henderson.
This card was inspired by a non-Paper Pumpkin card. I layered 3 pieces of the Washi tape over each other so the black from the card base wouldn't show as much and since the tape isn't as thick as the decorative paper, it brought everything to the same level. I'd recommend laying down a piece of Washi at the top, then adding your paper, and putting the bottom Washi on last. For some reason, I needed to add extra adhesive to the numbers. I think the texture of the yellow paper wouldn't allow them to stick.
