One of my stampers recently got married. I learned her wedding colors were blue with some green. I decided to take a chance and start playing with the Brusho© Crystal Color to see what I could come up with for a background. Did you see the Brusho© in the new Occasions catalog on page 26? It's tucked up in the corner and easy to miss.
Anyway, I'm not great with watercolor backgrounds but I thought this might work for me. Here's Carrie from the home office with a quick tutorial.
For my background I used a piece of Watercolor Paper and a Stampin' Spritzer to wet the background and applied a scant amount of the Prussian Blue and Moss Green only adding more powder and spritzing where I felt it was needed. I thought my finished background sort of looked like the cosmos so I decided to use the Lift Me Up stamp set and the Up & Away Thinlits to continue that atmospheric theme.
I stamped the balloon three times on Very Vanilla cardstock in Dapper Denim Classic Ink and cut each of them out with the coordinating die. I also cut between the ropes above the basket with an Xacto knife. For the balloon on the top I used a Marina Mist Stampin' Write Marker to add some additional color to the other details of the balloon, as well as some Clear Wink of Stella for shimmer. The balloons are stacked one on top of the other with Stampin' Dimensionals in between.
The clouds were die cut from the Iridescent Glimmer Paper that is part of the 6" x 6" Myths & Magic pack. I used a Sponge Dauber to add a little bit of Marina Mist Classic Ink on some of the edges.
The word love is from the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits dies and was die cut in Soft Sky cardstock. I applied a piece of the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet onto the cardstock before die cutting and it made attaching this piece so much easier! I ran the Clear Wink of Stella around the letters following the script just to give it a little shine.
The sentiment is stamped in Dapper Denim and is from the Lift Me Up stamp set. It actually says Love is in the air! but I snipped off the first word.
I wish this wonderful couple a lifetime of happiness! I think this match was made among the stars!!
