This is an example of using just 5 Stampin' Blends. I chose these 5 colors because they're very much in line with fall. The markers come in 12 colors from the Stampin' Up! color families with a light and a dark version - 24 total colors, in addition to an Ivory and Bronze for skin tones and a Color Lifter. Here I have used just the light shades. You can achieve some shadowing and I think it's a good place to start if you want to try them out. You could select your Color Lifter as your FREE marker. The color lifter not only helps remove mistakes when you may have colored outside the line but by using a light hand, it can also lighten areas where the ink has been applied too heavily.
This is the same image using both the light and dark Stampin' Blends of the same color. You can see the difference and there is a bit more richness to the color. I used the Color Lifter to lighten some areas of the Pool Party shading that is around the whole image.
For this Beacy Little Christmas card I've used about 10 Stampin' Blends including the Ivory for the sand and shack. Did you notice I've altered the sentiment? I took a portion of one sentiment from the stamp set and combined it with the other. If you live near the ocean you must have seashells!
Here's Carrie Cudney from the Stampin' Up! home office demonstrating her technique for using Stampin' Blends.
I have a different opinion on how to use the Stampin' Blends so here's my version.
