Finally! Law and order has returned to my craft room. I actually wouldn't be embarrassed to let someone see it now. It had gotten to the point where I couldn't even walk around and was tripping on things, knocking them over. Between paper crafting and sewing it was a nightmare! UGH! There's still more purging to do (the black bag is trash and will be going out the door), but a least I no longer feel overwhelmed. I have lots of items that will go in a yard sale this summer (plastic bin under the bag) and as soon as I get my basement in order (another major project!), I will move the yard sale stuff down there.
I'm actually thinking of moving my desk around to the corner near the window so I can have more of an L-shape and lots more natural light when working. The sewing machine is in the corner now but I don't use it as often as I'd like so it could be broken down into something smaller. I was just thinking I could get a square cutting table situation set up in the middle and where my cutting area is in the other corner, I could put more storage. Hmmmm???
The plan for the closet is to create an office space to put my computer, printer, and electronic cutter in, along with storage for office/business supplies. I'm going to IKEA soon to get another shelf for the bookcase so I can reorganize punches and stamps and to also pick up a couple additional DVD towers. These work great for organizing stamps. The two plastic bins in the forefront hold 3-D samples that I have made over the years. The plan is to photograph them and put them in a binder with the template and get rid of most of the actual project. I'll keep the most recent ones for displays at classes and craft shows. My goal from here on is "if you haven't looked at it, used it, or remembered it in a year . . . it's gone!"
This 20 cubby IKEA unit holds an extra Big Shot, dies, paper, and a sundry of things from other craft interests like wool felt (one whole cube), quilting and crafting books (on the bottom for stability), etc. Oh yes and did you notice . . . some of the woodwork is white and some is dark green. Yes, that's another project that got started and stopped and really needs to get finished! Those socks are going to get rolled up to look like cupcakes and are for some friends. Do you remember my Swiss Rolls? Similar idea but in cupcake wrappers I will make.
Let's see how long the room stays this way once I start creating again for clubs and classes with my new Occasions catty goodies. I can only hope!
