Today I post with a heavy heart; a card I made that I hope never to receive. Yesterday Officer Sean Gannon, age 32, a K-9 officer with the Yarmouth Police Department (Cape Cod) was shot and killed while in the process of executing a search warrant. Officer Gannon's K-9, Nero, was also shot and is currently alive but awaiting further evaluation.
The shooting actually took place in the adjoining town of Barnstable where my son is a police officer. My son was not on duty at the time but called to let me know he was ok knowing I'd hear something on the local news.
Please keep Officer Gannon's family in your thoughts, as well as all law enforcement personnel around the country. They never know when they leave their home to begin their shift, if that day will be their "End Of Watch". I felt the need to do something so I have already donated to a Go Fund Me page but will be making lots of brownies to be delivered with the card to the Yarmouth and Barnstable Police Departments, as well as my own Falmouth Police Department, to show them I support and am thinking of them.
