Stamping the Cape

Another of my great nieces will be turning one in a few days. I fell in love with the Magical Day Suite as soon as I saw it. It has so many possibilities and I knew it would be a terrific set to have for all the little ones in my life. CLICK to see a card I made for another of my great nieces.

I colored this little mermaid and her pet seahorse using Stampin' Blends. The background paper is from the Myths & Magic Designer Series Paper (DSP) and the glimmer paper is part of the Magical Day Suite as well. There's even a die for the waves. Did you know that the character dies can also be used to cut the images on the DSP? That's great if you're in a hurry and don't have time to color. Just die cut the image and you're good to go! There's lots of shine and shimmer to the DSP so it too is a must have!

I wanted to make this a shaker card but was looking for something different to put inside. I dug around my shelves and found some clear mini glass beads. These were popular at one time to cover pens and create pictures. You can't tell by the photo but they make the perfect tiny bubbles in the ocean.

Time to start changing gears and I did so with this sweet birthday card for one of my great nieces who just turned 1-year old. These kids are really making me feel like I look . . . OLD! LOL!

How fun is this cute unicorn, which is from the Magical Day stamp set (145854 Wood/145857 Clear) that will premiere on January 3 in the 2018 Occasions Catalog. Wait until you see this bundle. Can I just say A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E!!! It will be perfect for all your little princes and princesses! I'll be using this one a lot in 2018!

I did cheat a little and used the retired sprinkles from the Cool Treats Suite, which was in the 2017 Occasions Catalog, but the Sequin Assortment in the 2017-18 Annual Catalog will work just as well. The frames were cut with the Layering Squares Framelit Dies and the Foam Adhesive Strips work great to make this shaker. Don't forget to add a piece of Window Sheet behind your frames before adding the sequins!

I used the coordinating Myths & Magic Specialty Washi Tape (145602) to "sparkle up" the card. You probably can't tell from the photo but the Washi has lots of shine and glitter. I used my Pink Pirouette Combo Pack (144604) and Pool Party Combo Pack (144605) Stampin' Blends (available in the 2018 Occasions Catalog) to color the unicorn but used Bermuda Bay, Pink Pirouette, Pool Party, and Melon Mambo Stampin' Write Markers for the word "MAGICAL" and a Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker for the words above it. I wanted them to pop a little more so I lined the sentiment up using my Stamp-a-ma-jig, stamped over the words with VersaMark ink then heat embossed them using Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder. Can you tell in this picture? Oh yes and it was punched out with the Everyday Label Punch still available until January 2 in the 2017 Holiday Catalog and I punched two more pieces from Pink Pirouette cardstock, cut them in half and layered them in the back.

More bling was added with the Metallic Enamel Shapes and Glitter Enamel Dots from the 2017-18 Annual Catalog.
