I mentioned in a post the other day that once spring arrives, it gets to be a busy time for me making cards. So far I've had a birthday and anniversary and today we're celebrating another birthday for my 4-year old great niece Savannah.
I was inspired by this picture I saw of her on a recent trip to Disneyworld. Doesn't she look as happy as can be? (I've darkened her glasses as I don't feel comfortable posting full pictures of the little ones in the family.) She obviously had just celebrated a very princess day so I thought I would keep the celebration going with the card.
I've used the soon-to-retire Myths & Magic Designer Series Paper as the backdrop and have stamped the words using the new Make A Difference stamp set that is available now in Share the Love Bundle. I'm really having so much fun customizing my projects! The Layering Circles Framelits Dies were used to cut out the circles and I had some retired sprinkles to make it a shaker card. But look what's inside . . .
. . . a crown! I found this idea HERE but decided to simplify it a bit and scaled it down. I had some retired Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper and used it to add some bling to the crown. The hardest part was finding the right adhesive. I ended up scraping off the glimmer on the glue tabs and using Tear & Tape. Scraping that glimmer off was not easy, which is a testament to the quality of Stampin' Up!'s Glimmer Paper!
I trimmed the Happy Birthday Framelit Die so it could fit on either side of the card. I think Savannah will get a kick out of this card and she can add it to her Disney trip scrapbook.
