Once spring rolls around I'm pretty busy with birthday and anniversary cards. This one is for my niece and her husband. I'm giving you a little sneak peek at one of the new paper packs, the Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper (SDSP) and the Make a Difference stamp set, that will be available to customers a month before the new 2018-2019 Annual Catalog premieres.

DSP

You never get a true feel for the DSP until you have it in your hands and I have to admit I was a little up-in-the-air about this pack until I saw it in person. The colors and prints give a Bohemian kind of vibe but there's a little surprise element. Four of the sheets have a shimmer aspect to them. The images look flat at first but when you move them you see it. The other thing I love is that this DSP is a heavier weight so it will be great for 3-D items and gift boxes! It's a little more expensive than our regular DSP packs but you get 4 sheets of 6 patterns for a total of 24 sheets vs. our regular 2 sheets of 6 or 12 total and like I said, it's got the extra weight.

The Make a Difference stamp set allows you to create any sentiment you like with these beautiful cursive letters. I have chosen to use all lower case but there is a full set of upper case letters along with numbers and symbols. The set also includes a small set of block capital letters with numbers, symbols, and a variety of sayings including "Made With Love", "Handstamped By" and several others for those of you who put your "signature" on the back of your cards. It also includes the Stampin' Up! copyright stamp that satisfies the company's Angel Policy for those who sell their projects.

9th Anniversary - Sunshine Hearts

My son and daughter-in-law celebrated 9 years of marriage last month. Every year I say the same thing, "I can't believe how fast the time has flown!". My granddaughter will be 2 years old in a few weeks. However, I'm not getting any older. LOL!

C+AAnniversarySide I decided to try this technique using a piece of Window Sheet for the center card front.

Start by cutting a 4-1/4" x 11" piece of Whisper White cardstock and score it at 5-1/2".

Cut off 4" from the front flap leaving only 1-1/2" at the top.

From the cut off piece of Whisper White, cut a 1" x 4-1/4" piece and a 1-7/16" x 4-1/4" piece to be used on the inside to cover the adhesive from the Window Sheet. Set these pieces aside.

Cut a 3-1/2" x 4-1/4" piece of Window Sheet and a 1-1/2" x 4-1/4" piece of desired cardstock. I used a piece of the Year of Cheer Specialty Designer Series Paper (SDSP) for this.

Attach the 3-1/2" x 4-1/4" piece of cardstock to the bottom of the Window Sheet overlapping a half inch. I used Fast Fuse to attach my pieces as the adhesive will be covered later.

Place adhesive along the inside lower edge of the upper flap, line up the Window Sheet/SDSP piece so it's even with the bottom of the card base and attach the Window Sheet to the top flap.

Using the Whisper White pieces you cut earlier, attach the 1" x 4-1/4" piece to the inside of the upper flap to cover the adhesive and the 1-7/16 x 4-1/4" piece to the lower portion. Decorate as desired.

I used the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits dies and cut hearts from Silver and Champagne Foil. Have you used the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets yet? It makes attaching detailed die shapes so much easier!!! No more glue disasters saving you time, money and aggravation!

The sentiment is from the Number of Years stamp set and was stamped with VersaMark ink and Silver Stampin' Emboss Powder on a 7/8" x 3" piece of Whisper White cardstock. I used the Everyday Label Punch to shape the ends. I punched one end of a 1" x 3-1/4" piece of Champagne Foil with the punch, attached the shaped sentiment to the foil and punched the other end.

Some little Metallic Enamel Heart Shapes were added for extra detail.

Happy World Card Making Day! Celebrate with Wine!

HJAnniversary2017 I don't know anything about wine but my niece runs a catering business and she knows her way around a wine cellar. Hence, I thought this anniversary card would hold some meaning. As I'm writing this, I just had a "DAH!" moment. It is her and her husband's 5th anniversary so I could have stamped four of the smaller wine glasses with the large one representing their 5th. Oh well, it's already in the mail.

HJAnniversary2017-2 I've used the Half Full stamp set for most of the card and the Happy Anniversary is from the Number of Years stamp set. I've colored in the large wine glass using the "soon to be released" Stampin' Blends alcohol markers. I really love alcohol markers. They make it so easy to add dimension and shading to your coloring and if you get carried away, there's always the Color Lifter marker that removes ink. Yeah!

I've also tried a technique I recently saw online. The technique used a die but I thought, why couldn't you just do it with a stamp? So I did. What do you think?

Here's another version with a video to show you how to do it. Try it with a coordinating stamp and die for an even more dramatic effect.
