I'm finally getting around to working on my April Paper Pumpkin kit and what a great one it is! There are enough supplies and then some to create 20 - 3"x3" cards with envelopes in addition to four gift boxes that will allow you to not just fill it with a gift but to gift the cards themselves.
Of course I'd guess a majority of people would prefer to make the standard A2 cards (4-1/4" x 5-1/2") but this kit easily allows you to do that as well. In fact, there are dozens and dozens of A2 alternatives all over the Internet. I waited so long to make my alternative projects that even though I "think" they're original, there's probably a similar one just like it or very close to it somewhere out there.
I worked this card in the colors featured in the kit - Island Indigo and Calypso Coral - but I added Crumb Cake for the ship's wheel. I was actually thinking this would make a sweet baby boy card if done in pastels.
Even though the May kit, according to the sneak peek hint that was provided last month, will be a Father's Day theme, I thought I could put one together for a boating kind of guy using this month's kit. The sentiment is from the April 2017 Paper Pumpkin kit. Any sentiment could be used to make this the perfect card for any sailor!
Speaking of dads, how about a nifty little pop up gift card holder? Just attach 1" x 3-1/4" pieces of cardstock scored at 1/2" inside the box, attach your decorations and/or gift card and there you have it. Before I assembled the box base I used a 3/4" Circle Punch to create a finger hole so the recipient would not only have an easier time opening the box but would also know from which side to pull.
I'm still working on more projects and will add to this post in the next day or so.
UPDATE 4.24.18: Here's one more project I came up with. It would make a terrific graduation card.
